Why is it important to write a good CV?
Many job opportunities are lost by not having a properly written CV. It is an excellent chance to promote yourself to a potential employer. Also, it is an excellent way of keeping track of your achievements and accomplishments, all of which are important in terms of career options.
Is there a structure for writing a CV?
Yes. Your CV must carry, in detail, the following features:
- Personal/contact details
- Career /objective statement
- Key skills
- Education and qualifications
- Career history
- Responsibilities held
- Achievements (demonstrated abilities);
- Hobbies and interests
Some Tips
- Keep it concise
- Be accurate
- Show your knowledge of what is required for the job
- Use your CV to get an interview. There you have more opportunity to explain your achievements and goals
